While thinking about and preparing for our own decline and death can be daunting, it is a great gift we can give ourselves and those who love and care for us.
This November, Shtetl 2.0 is presenting a free two-session workshop to discuss approaches to serious illness and end-of-life care, going beyond filling out the usual forms.
These sessions will prepare you to discuss your care with your family, friends and health care providers. You will gain tools—and practice skills—to help you discern your values and priorities—and express them.
We will explore our personal experiences with death, our values, tools for talking with family and providers, advance care planning, Medical Aid in Dying (MAID), and Jewish perspectives on serious illness, death and dying.
Our Presenters Will Be
- Dr. Kathryn Borgenicht, a retired geriatrician and palliative care physician.
- Rabbi David Teutsch, the founding director of the Center for Jewish Ethics at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
- Rivkah Walton, a community organizer with experience in these issues will moderate.
Please join us for this important conversation!
Registration is required—PLEASE NOTE:
- Each person attending should register separately.
- We strongly encourage attendance in person.
- We also strongly encourage you to attend both sessions (Nov 2, 9), if at all possible.
- Thanks!
